Firstly, a big thanks to The Grants Hub for the warm welcome! I’m so excited to join this hardworking team and community.

My passion is to help people and organisations find grant opportunities aligned to their needs. There’s so much funding available in Australia but it can be tricky to find new grants or rounds and track deadlines, especially if you have limited resources.

The Grants Directory is more relevant than ever as we traverse unchartered territory through the COVID-19 pandemic which continues to make an impact on the grants landscape. I look forward to working with the team to provide further updates and resources to our community on what this means for grant seekers in the coming months.

My background in grants has been built through both working for and in partnership with not-for-profit organisations across Australia. Having worked in different sectors with roles spanning projects, fundraising and grant-making, I feel keenly tuned into the needs of grant seekers as well as the perspective of funding providers.

Moving here from the United States, my early career in Australia landed me at the McGrath Foundation during a period of major growth. Working for a national charity that is focused on fundraising and delivering an important health message to people across Australia introduced me to passionate individuals, community groups and corporate supporters across the country. Often found on the ground running finance functions at events, I also tackled the challenge of grant seeking whilst wearing many other hats. This was a bit before The Grants Hub was launched – I would have loved to use the Grants Directory back then!

Other career highlights for me included working with national Foundations in grants management roles. I helped to build and manage grant programs that facilitated millions of dollars in small to large grants to a broad range of organisations including grassroots community groups, researchers, educators, public health facilities, advocacy groups, social enterprises, and national charities. Through these experiences I have worked closely with grant seekers as well as assessors and decision makers, and I’ve seen on both sides what makes a great grants experience and what poses challenges. I’m keen to use my skills and expertise to improve outcomes for grant seekers.

There are so many remarkable individuals and incredibly worthwhile organisations in our country – and so many grants, both big and small – I hope I can help make it easier for you to find timely grants aligned to your needs.
