IMPACT Philanthropy Program

This grant allows philanthropists and Not-for-Profits (NFPs) to connect and demonstrate how they improve outcomes for the communities in which they operate.

Organisations are encouraged to include high-quality outcomes that can maximise their impact through:

  • Good Governance

  • Solid Leadership

  • Strong Strategy, and

  • An Outcomes Focus

IMPACT Philanthropy is passionate about helping philanthropists give in a way that creates real community benefits. They assist by providing the tools for NFPs to generate more impact and providing funding for programs that align with the key areas outlined.

Bennelong Foundation Grants

The Bennelong Foundation aims to enhance community wellbeing and provide opportunities for positive and lasting change in its community. This grant supports organisations and community projects, with funding priority given to projects that directly address recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Programs should fall into the following two categories: 

  • Education Training and Employment: Programs that provide access, equity and opportunities to education and training or that support and build pathways to sustainable employment. 

  • Community Health and Wellbeing: To assist organisations that conduct programs with the express purpose of improving the physical health, nutrition and wellbeing of the Australian community. 

Please note that it is a two-step process for this bi-annual grant. Step 1 includes the submission of Expression of Interest (EOI). Step 2 is an invited application for shortlisted submissions.

Economic and Community Participation (ECP) Grant 

This grant aims to improve the economic and community participation of people with disability across Australia. Funding supports projects that aim to increase access and inclusion. 

Two streams of funding are available within this grant round:

  • Economic Participation stream: Sector-based initiatives to create pathways to employment and drive inclusive practices for people with disability to contribute to Australia’s economic prosperity. 

  • Social and Community Participation stream: Inclusive practices to create opportunities for people with disability to participate in community life, with a focus on arts, culture, sport and recreation.

The outcomes for this program aim to ensure people with disabilities participate in and benefit from the same community activity as anyone else, and they actively contribute to leading, shaping and influencing their community.

Macular Disease Research Funding

Applications are open for the next round of MDFA Research Grants for projects commencing in 2021. Recognising there is a critical need for macular disease research, grants are available for researchers to pursue research into the medical, social, low vision or nutritional research of this disease. 

Additionally, MDFA has also announced a new stream of funding, the Grant Family Fund, for early-career researchers involved in ‘blue-sky’ research for macular disease. 

Aligning with World Sight Day, applications are open until January next year. The Grant Family Fund seeks to challenge and shift current paradigms and/or have a major impact on macular disease research.
