Interview with Travel Play Live - Providers of the Women's Adventure Grant

After being selected as our Grant of the Week only four days ago, Travel Play Live’s Women’s Adventure Grant has attracted unprecedented interest - not only from The Grants Hub followers, but from individuals and organisations around Australia.

Jessie (Founder & Managing Director of The Grants Hub) had a chance to touch base with the Director of Inspiration & Adventure from Travel Play Live (Kerryann Hayes), to find out some more about the Women’s Adventure Grant.

Funding Range Clarification from the Harcourts Foundation

It was great to be in touch with Julia Eyles from the Harcourts Foundation recently.

Harcourts provides grants on a quarterly basis for events, projects, items or initiatives that help, grow, and enrich communities.

The number of applications they now receive each round has increased significantly over the last two years, which the Foundation is excited about - great to hear! However, many applications have been for amounts which far exceed the Foundation's capacity.

Ideally, the Foundation would like to receive applications in the $2,000 to $5,000 funding range (or even smaller). So, if you are a smaller community-based charity and have a project which needs a small funding amount, this could be the grant for you.

Helen Macpherson Smith Trust Revised Grant Program

From April 2017, the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust will be operating under a revised grants structure. There is a new program, focus areas and key objectives.

The focus areas are:

  • Education

  • Community

  • Arts & Culture

  • Environment

  • Health.

The Trust operates two funding levels:

  • One-off Grants: Up to $30,000

  • Social Impact Grants: $91,000-200,000

The next round of funding opens 23 May. This is a great opportunity to attract significant funding to your organisation, so make sure you're on top of the changes and prepare a strong application which meets their new guidelines.

A Few Updates

Here are a few news snippets from the grants world that I'd like to make you aware of:

  • The Federal Government's Catalyst—Australian Arts and Culture Fund will be transferred to the Australia Council from 1 July. Read more.

  • The Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation 2017/18 Grant Program Briefing will be held in Melbourne tomorrow. We'll be updating their grants program details on The Grants Hub this week.

  • The Federal Government's Strengthening Communities Program will be changing to the Strong & Resilient Communities Program from 1 January 2018. Applications are expected to open in May 2017.

  • The NAB Foundation is launching an exciting new grants program next week. Stay tuned for details in our 'All New Funding' email coming out on Thursday.
